We love animals

Lopez Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization. We believe pets play an important role in our lives. Our goal is to find kind, loving, forever homes for companion animals here on Lopez Island. We strive to make animal adoption a rewarding, family friendly, and positive experience on Lopez Island.

Founded

Founded in 1985 by Lopez Island volunteers

Growth

Became a 501(c)3 in 2002.

LAPS is privately funded by members of our community.
